I decided it would be easier to reach a larger scale of people through the awesome powers of technology. So thus welcome to my blog. I will try to write at least three times a week about whatever occurs here, in the Holy Land. Once I join the army...this will stop.
It's home. It is 7 am here and life is still, the wind is barely blowing, the birds chirp silently, the sight of life is lagging. And yet this is home. When i got off the El Al airplane, I felt a warm rush of emotions, mostly regret. I had a life in the US, I could have pursued graduate school and started my life real soon, but instead, i came here...and yes, i felt a lot of regret.
This country is hard to adjust to, its harsh, loud, not understanding, but at the same time, the women would give you an arm if you needed it, the men would ask you a zillion questions and simply nod, and the children will admire you because you are an American, here, hoping to serve their country.
This wont be easy. Already this week i have had my low moments of doubt and anger, but that will pass and with time we will all learn to come together (my garin).
I am stopping now but i will keep this up.
